KIt de conversion de collecteur  conçu pour éliminer les problèmes de fuites qu'on retrouve sur l'origine ou pour remplacer les collecteurs de série "en caoutchouc" sur les moteurs Evolution. Ceci est réalisé en montant les carburateurs comme ceux de série des Big Twin depuis 1990 sur les Evolution Sportster depuis 1986. Les collecteurs sont conçus pour améliorer la circulation d'air d'admission et ils apportent une modification à la manière dont un carburateurs et un filtre à air de série se montent. Cela signifie que ces composants nécessitent des changements d’entretoises et/ou de support de carburateur. Note: Joints spéciaux S&S inclus, ne focntionne pas avec les joints d’origine style stock.

The S&S manifold conversion kits for Harley-Davidson® Evolution® big twin engines are designed to replace the original rubber "compliance fitting" style manifold and seals used on 1984-'89 big twins, with a rigid mount aluminum manifold. The stock style rubber compliance fittings, used in this range of model years, are subject to degradation due to heat, age, and exposure to petroleum products. Intake leaks are a common problem with the compliance fittings due to cracks in the rubber.
 
The most common symptom of an intake leak is an erratic idle, but intake leaks can cause poor overall performance, and in extreme cases, can cause serious engine damage due to a lean mixture in one or both cylinders. By upgrading to the S&S rigid mount manifold, these cracking and leaking problems are eliminated. In addition, the improved flow of the S&S manifold can help improve performance. Since the S&S manifold conversion kit is intended to replace the intake system on stock engines, the manifold provided in the kit is machined to the correct length for a stock displacement engine. The manifold included in the conversion kit is the same one used in S&S Super B and E carb kits and is machined with a 1-7/8" throat diameter.
 
This manifold can be used with S&S Super B and Super E carburetors as well as stock carburetors with a two bolt mounting pattern. In addition to the manifold, the kit includes front and rear manifold mounting flanges, manifold o-rings, and aluminum spacer shims. Fits 1984 - '89 Harley-Davidson® big twin models with stock, 5.550", length cylinders and S&S ES, Super B, Super E, Tillotson®, Bendix®, and Keihin® carburetors.
